Urgent!!! For council only!!!

IVLE is down, and Refresher's on Wednesday.

An intertwining of those two factors means that you have to download games comm stuff from here.

--> Refresher Course-26.12.05.doc <--

Please download it and read and do what you're supposed to do by tmr. All instructions are clear, and please don't hand in slip-shod stuff or you join Izhar the cheeken in my cheese fondue [sharpens knives]. I could seriously compile a jokebook from all those "RAMS". The inverted commas was intended.

Cheerios~~~

Games Comm

Novitas AJC!

Finally, the first thing that we have been planning for weeks has come (and passed). Sorry for not updating, cause ya'know, I'm a very busy person. Haha! Yesh, Yesh. of course. For games comm its been a very busy three weeks, and to say the least I'm happy we got the chance to test out some stuff which we weren't so sure about... like the clue stations things...

Of course not to say it didn't go without glitches... Never mind, just let me go through a day by day account of the workshop.

Day 1 - 5th December 2005

Reported to school at a god-damned friggin early time of 7.35, and happily I admit I was over 5 minutes late. That's just reporting to SC room. we were supposed to report to Reading Room at 7.30, hahaz... Me and Rahul and Yvonne were late at the same time... Councillor briefing first, for Games Comm I was supposed to give the Game One and Game Two briefing. By all admissions I screwed up briefing no.`1... Slurred through the first half of my briefing, to the frowns of TeddyBear and the other teachers... I can't of can't understand what I was saying either... Never mind..

Games One went quite well, I'd think.. though the simulation for clue stations weren't exactly good.. As in, yeahs, its complicated business, so we have to be patient when dealing with it... Response was great, the OGLs were very enthusiastic (because of the games I think) although some of the games looked dubious on paper. Now that they've been tested and changed accordingly, I'd predict O1 to be a great blast...

Games Two was great, too. I improved on the briefing procedure, I think, now that I got used to the task of briefing 100+ people who are looking up at you, unlike in LTs where it is more conducive to conduct briefings... Not giving reasons here but it's true, giving a briefing in Reading Room feels more like having a conversation with 100+ people at the same time.

Well I am assigned to Acuatico!!! Yesh. I came up with all the names. So if you think things like (Spanish for teak-wood) sounds dumb, well, it's kind of my fault. But well. So far no one complains, so I'd guess it's okay? Haha. Tico (short name) got lots of fun and noisy people, eg Shannon, Harry, Jonathan, etc. And at the same time a group of quieter people. But with those 3 times in Tico can never be boring, hahaz!! Heh, the girl I interviewed some time after the deadline for OGL apps, the Wilopo, is in Tico also... Haha, feels weird to have someone you interviewed one-on-one and she's in the same Elemental, haha!!! Then I found out (belatedly) that she actually grew up in the same town as me, in Surabaya, haha!! Thats one more Surabaya kid in AJ!

Day 1 was fun... but we got some stick at the end cause some of the games station masters were really unprepared for instruction giving, and some were totally hopeless as station masters. Never mind, kind of good that we got to test out the mistakes now rather than later...

Day 2 - 6th December 2005

Was late, again. Haha! Same old reason!!! Really not my fault! I missed the train by a friggin 5 seconds and had to wait for 10 minutes for the next train... Yvonne was late with me today. Haha! Went to report to Reading Room first before making myself some coffee... was falling asleep by then. But the morning activity sure woke everyone up. Well, the "Hey Mama" video came from... who else but me? Haha!!! Too bad no "My Humps" that a certain cow was supposed to perform!!

Game Three and Four briefings weren't by me, Felicia and William did them.. And no offense, but I thought William sounded funny giving briefing... I'd suppose he's more comfortable talking in Chinese? Anyway without a doubt most of the OGLs had fun today as well. Water games were aplenty.. And OGLs like those in tico practically poured water onto Yvonne. Haha. Nice. I almost ganna also, heng I zao soon enough. Fun, but we ended u getting scolded for that as well.

If there is any regret to take out of the first two days' games trials, it is that we councillors didn't get to play those games at all... so we're thinking of holding another round of games for councillors only. Then I get to play, ahahahha!!! I think we got the green light aleady, NPS say we can try the other games at councillor level. Haha. Yep, great!

Day 2 was as usual, fun... but we had a lot of work to do... Had to rush out a brand new proposal by Thursday...

Still, I found time to play Diablo II at night before I went to bed

Day 3 - 7th December 2005

Was EARLY!!! Haha! But I had stomachache so still reported to reading room late = [

No games for Day 3, they started off doing some activity, I forgot what... Then apparently they went to dance and given their Elementii pairings... and paint elementii flag...

Games Comm were kind of stranded in reading room rushing things out for Thursday's games trial. At around noon NPS happily came in and asked us to try out a very major change for Day 4, meaning we had to re-do everything... sigh... We did manage to rush out everything...

Then looked around at the banners they went to design. Not bad lahz... the worms ones were cute.. haha! Incendio's dragon was cool... but kind of redundant? Unless you piece it together it looks very very stupid on its own...

Day 3 debrief was particularly harsh. I wasn't listening to what was said but I know it was harsh... Apparently something about our behavior as a council? Hmm...

Day 4 - 8th December 2005

Haha, as usual. Late by a few minutes again... oops. Heng reading room open late, so I was earlier than TeddyBear. Games X today, I am to give briefing again...

They learned "It's Gonna Be Me" in the morning, must say many of them were astounded by it... haha! Good job Zhar! The 19th SC people who came to see see struggled with the dance, haha! Hmm. The mood of this OGL workshop had been greater than the spirit at the OGF workshop, which was quite dull as compared to this!

Amazingly, the PS people managed to take this shot... She must have saw Jun Kai with some other girl or something... This expression is priceless lahz!! Haha!!

Games X was quite bad. Someone made us screw up the clue station sequence by giving out the wrong clue and failing to re-confirm with the Elemental... ended up having to make everyone stay longer for a re-run... In one hour we had to rush everything for the clue station re-run, and simultaneously I had to make changes to all 3 games on the spot, cause logistics got lousy balloons (which happened to be much less than the quantity we asked for, too) which burst before they were blown and NPS deciding to change games on the spot to see how things turned out. The clue station re-trial worked out quite well with a pack of lies to go along with it.

Never mind. Anyway, debrief that day was quite long, and had a meeting with Games Comm and NPS to conclude our OGL workshop games. Shocking deadlines which were so friggin early.

Went to dinner with the Tico people. Which idiot made me go all the way to Yishun to eat LONG JOHN SILVER???!!! Never mind. Apparently cos Wilopo and Shannon stayed in that area. Which almost killed me cause I live in Dhoby Ghaut. Like, the other extreme of Singapore? Talked about lots of things with the Tico people, which was when I realised Wilopo also came from Surabaya. Should have known lahz, all the funny surnames all from Indonesia one. The cool part about it is that we are from the same town haha!!!

I was one of the last to leave, with Harry, Barry and Ada. The three of them got a lift from Ada's dad cause they lived on the same street. I had to sit on for another 20 minutes to Dhoby Ghaut, and walked home from there...

That concluded the OGL workshop for Novitas 2006!!! Surely it was more fun than any other workshop? And the spirit throughout was very high. Attendance was great, almost everyone who was absent had valid reason -- meaning that those who had a tendency to pon (ahem, wilopo. Taking care of your brother made you late, ehz?) all came because it was fun... haha! That makes all the trouble worth it, really.

Friday was AGM. Came to school with this big hoo-haa about how they just realised AJE conned the SC's money. Probably a little bit too late, but I DID warn you guys not to sign the contract cause it was flawed. And yeahs. My blood almost boiled handling such stuff with AJE. Heng we got THE NPS to stand out for us.. Damn Zai lah she.. although she's a friggin slave driver can't deny that she got what it takes. Scared the shit out of the trio of AJE prez, the gay lala-DP aka Aaron Neo and their witless supplier who didn't really trust their hidden agenda against the SC. Yesh. Don't think you are part of the 'AJ Family' means that you can rip us off all you want. Don't think that being in AJE, you are the only ones who know about unsculpurous business methods. Don't think that you are smart because you can get past teachers who are new and naive when dealing with a business organisation.

Dude, the fact is, we got better brains with guts over here in the SC, not some cocked-up gay hiding behind his counter and a flawed contract which states crappy legal notices and protected by the "Official Secrets Act"(which didn't even apply to business organisations). Yes, I'll admit that you are quite smart to be able to notice you can take advantage of our enforced business partnership with you. But the dumb part was trying to make a cuckold out of us by ripping us off for stuff which we did not agree to beforehand.

Fuck you assholes. As far as I'm concerned, I will NEVER buy so much as a single white rabbit sweet from that slimy pot-hole of a Point X. You know, before this shit happened we actually thought of having a clue station for Point X to help AJE advertise.

Now, dream on.

Just pray and hope the OGLs won't get hold of the news that you tried to rip them off the shirt money. Don't forget you're also OGLs. We'll see how badly you get it when they realise their fellow OGL is trying to rip them off.
